Life Transitions
Change can be difficult, and life transitions such as starting a new job, moving to a new city, or ending a romantic relationship can be incredibly stressful. Most people will experience a certain amount of stress and anxiety during life transitions, however, you may notice these feelings start to affect your life in ways you didn’t anticipate. Getting the help you need to move through these changes can make a positive impact and help get you back on your feet.
We understand that different stages of life involve varying degrees of transition. For children and teens, changes in grade level, starting at a new school, or increasing academic demands can be major stressors. For young adults, going to college or starting a job can be a source of anxiety. In adulthood, changes such as marriage, the decision to grow your family or be child-free, loss of friends or family members, divorce, aging, and retirement can all pose challenges to one’s functioning.
We’re here for you. In therapy, you will get the support you need to better understand how these changes are impacting you, how to cope with difficult emotions, new ways of thinking about these changes, and a personalized plan for taking care of yourself in compassionate ways.
